FedEx Corp. said Friday that it will raise its ground and home delivery rates in 2009.The average increase will be 5.9 percent, the company reported. The rate increase goes into effect Jan. 5.The Memphis, Tenn.-based delivery company (NYSE: FDX) had previously announced it would raise shipping rates for its FedEx Express division by 6.9 percent, also effective Jan. 5. FedEx is United Parcel Service’s largest competitor, and is the parent of FedEx Freight, which has operations in Louisville.
