We've updated the eBay User Agreement and eBay Privacy Policy, which go into effect immediately for new members registering on or after today, and on August 13, 2008, for current members. You'll also receive an email in your My Messages shortly explaining the updates. Most of these updates are minor, and your rights and our responsibilities have changed very little. The changes are part of a worldwide effort make the user agreements and privacy policies for eBay platforms around the world much more consistent. TRUSTe and eBay announced a partnership that will enable eBay to enhance online safety for consumers by adopting TRUSTe’s Trusted Download Program certification. eBay and TRUSTe PARTNER TO IMPROVE SAFETY OF DOWNLOADABLE SOFTWARE TRUSTe’s Trusted Download Program to certify downloadable software from eBay and its developers San Francisco and Chicago – (DevCon ‘08) eBay Inc. (Nasdaq: EBAY; www.ebay.com) and TRUSTe today announced that they will partner to raise awareness of best practices surrounding downloadable software through the use of standards set forth by TRUSTe’s Trusted Download Program. Already a certified TRUSTe Web privacy seal holder, eBay will go further and adopt TRUSTe’s Trusted Download Program certification for downloadable applications and provide incentives for members of the eBay Developers Program to do the same.

Canada Post has proposed new specifications and pricing for Oversize Lettermail, effective January 12, 2009. Mail items that are thick and rigid, or thick and have box-like edges, will be considered Irregular Oversize Lettermail. Canada Post is taking steps to ensure that the eBay community is notified well in advance of our intention to adjust the pricing and the specifications of Oversize Lettermail. eBay Australia has published a guide to eBay's new Finding platform. It explains what factors Finding takes into account when bringing back search results and includes tips for buyers and sellers. eBay is currently rolling out "Finding 2.0" in the UK, and will roll it out to other sites.
